Accountability
Financial transparency
How TCSA raises, protects and reports on the funds entrusted to us.
Who we are
The Timur Cultural and Social Association (TCSA) is a volunteer-led, non-political nonprofit association founded on April 12, 2025 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. We hold an IRS Employer Identification Number (EIN) and are working toward recognition as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. Until the IRS approves it, please do not assume that gifts to TCSA are tax-deductible.
How we are funded
Our income comes from membership dues and donations, as set out in our bylaws. Online gifts are processed by Stripe and PayPal, and some friends also give through Cash App. Card payments are handled by Stripe Checkout, so we do not collect or store card numbers on this website.
Where donations go
Gifts support four areas of work: community events and shared meals; language and youth education; help for immigrant and refugee families settling in Pennsylvania; and humanitarian aid for people in need in Afghanistan. See our Programs page for details.
Oversight
Under our bylaws, the General Assembly (Qurultay) meets once a year to approve the work program and annual budget and to elect the Board of Directors. The Board meets every 45 days, and the Head of Finance and Procurement holds one of its six seats. Any branch we open must report to the finance committee every quarter. We follow the principles of transparency, accountability and economy.
Reports and documents
Our bylaws are available now (see the Bylaws page). We will post our annual program and financial summary here once our General Assembly has approved it, and our IRS 501(c)(3) letter once it is received.
Donation policy
Monthly donations start at $10 and one-time gifts start at $20. Every gift is voluntary, and a confirmation is sent to the email you provide. If you have a question about a gift, write to timurassociation@gmail.com.
