Who we are
The Timur Cultural and Social Association is a nonprofit, independent and non-political organization dedicated to safeguarding, strengthening and promoting the cultural, social and historical identity of the Turkic peoples of Afghanistan: Uzbeks, Turkmens and others.
We serve Uzbek, Turkmen and other Turkic families living in Pennsylvania, including many who have recently arrived as immigrants and refugees. Through education, youth programs and cultural events, we help them stay connected to their roots while building their lives in America.
“An informed, united and empowered community that passes its language, cultural heritage and values on to future generations, and that plays an active and constructive role alongside America’s other communities, strengthening solidarity, understanding, peace and social responsibility.” Our vision
